It all starts  …
When you allow yourself to bethe person you really are —Your true self.

Why Now ?

Why Now?

Maybe your left hand is natural for you.

But social norms robbed you of your left hand.

Social pressure to do this, never that.

The idea that things are absolute.

Such arbitrary divisions make life difficult.

Giving rise to distrust, discrimination, and conflict.

Maybe you were taught that life is hard, dreams aren't realistic.
You may be struggling to become something alien to your true self.

When people are true to themselves and follow their hearts, total harmony and perfect timing arise, so society runs smoothly.

Believe in yourself and know yourself. Express who you really are.
You get what you give — it's a law of nature.

Do what delights you in the moment.

Experience the wonder that is your birthright,

the joy of living as the person you really are.

A flood of media dulls our senses, numbs emotional sensitivity,
and jams our brain waves.
There is nowhere left on earth to go without drowning in information.

14days — Clear your mind and return to your true self in a unique oasis of time, place, and people. Escape from socially-defined normalcy, far from the information society.

It all starts  …
When you allow yourself to be the person you really are — Your true self.
If you believe in this project, please add your strength to ours.
We need support and donations to make this happen
— for you and yours, and for the planet.
TIME&PLACE&PEOPLE

14days provides the time, place and companionship to return to your true nature.

Forget your bank balance, forget tomorrow, forget social networks. Forget your gender, relationships, professions, name, nationality, even who you are. Forget it all. Empty your mind and open your eyes.

14days is based on the philosophy of Zen and Hygge.

To change your consciousness, you need a different place, away from the artificial rhythms that distort life.

Attuned to the cycles of the sun and moon which shaped human evolution.

And aligned with the five elements -- water, metal, earth, fire, and wood — of traditional Eastern philosophy.

We created three spaces — Time, Place, and People — where humans can return to their original nature.

Relax and reconnect with your true self amid Denmark's natural beauty, free of outside distractions.

A time for sixty individuals from diverse regions, lifestyles and cultures to interact and expand their experience of life.

14days is digital-free, solo-participation.

ZEN and HYGGE

PLACE
JAPAN x DENMARK
To all over the world!

Japan's Zen and Denmark's Hygge offer hints for true happiness.

Zen focuses on recognizing your original self through meditation.

Hygge encourages personal contentment through simple living and togetherness.

Zen is a way to realize your true nature, to cherish each encounter,

and to learn from all people.

Hygge is about appreciating the little things, living in the present, and finding happiness

in what you have and the people you love.

By Lake Esrum we are creating the ideal time, place, and community for returning to your true self and rediscovering happiness through a fusion of Zen and Hygge.

First Europe, then Asia, North America, South America, Oceania, and Africa. If you are interested and would like to see 14days created in your country, please contact us.

Hygge makes Denmark one of the world's top-three happiest nations.

HYGGE

The Danish concept of hygge's highest priority is sharing life's uncomplicated pleasures

with those you can trust and feel at ease with.

It involves caring about what makes you feel good about yourself rather than what others might think of you.

Zen practice draws out your self-awareness.

ZEN

In stillness, know your true self.

Through  Zen, the mind clears — so your life can begin.

Thoughts on the “14days” project

When I was in my twenties and working as an architect, I often traveled abroad alone. The moment my plane took off from Japan, I was released from everything that surrounded me in daily life and I returned to my original innocent self. The feeling of liberation relaxed me like a drug. My encounters with unknown lands, unknown cultures, and unknown people, where no one knows anything about me, became a mirror that brought out my true self.

When I was about to turn 30, I wanted to change my life, so I gave up my apartment, got rid of everything I owned, and left my architect's job behind. Stripped of my socially and culturally defined identity, I did what excited me, what made me feel alive.

Three years flew by before I returned to Japan, seeing things through new eyes. I resumed my architecture practice with an unwavering axis of self given to me by my time overseas. This understanding is what I wanted to convey to people through the power of architectural space and place.

You could call this revelation my "14days".

My 14days has inspired my work as an architect ever since. I begin by talking to the client about their problems and how they envision their future. With this insight I design the architectural environment for them to spend the majority of their life.

Now, my life mission as an architect is to configure an environment of Time, Place, and People that expresses the sanctity of living as one's true self, architecture that will serve future generations for posterity. This is 14days, a grand project that puts my life on the line.
